Retired from the Ohio Department of Public Safety after 32 years of service. Law enforcement career began as a Police Officer with the University of Toledo Police Department; enforcement agents through senior management with the Ohio Department of Liquor Control Enforcement Division; in 1995, enforcement operations transferred to the Ohio Department of Public Safety, where I was promoted to Agent-in-Charge of enforcement operations, Cincinnati, Toledo and administrations; 2007 appointment to the position of Deputy Director of Ohio Homeland Security: served on the Executive Board of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force until retirement. A Vietnam Veteran, serving as a Combat Medic 1970 – 1971; currently hold a commission with the Lucas County Sheriff's Office and Security Director for Key Hotels and Property Management. I ride a 2012 Ultra Classic Limited Harley Davidson and 1985 1200 Goldwing, riding since 1972.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Full Membership:
To become a Full Member of the TBSMC the individual must be sponsored by a full member of the TBSMC in good standing and approved by majority vote of the TBSMC chapter general membership. In addition, the individual must meet the following requirements:
1. Must have a motorcycle license endorsement or obtain a motorcycle license endorsement during the probationary period before approval to Full membership.
2. Must own a motorcycle designed for road worthy touring, which is at least 750 ccs.
3. Must provide proof of current motorcycle insurance and motorcycle endorsement or license;
4. Must voluntary submit to a criminal background check;
5. Must not be a member of another motorcycle club or serve in any capacity of such club;
6. Must have fulfilled all of the chapter’s one year probationary requirements to be a full member;
7. The applicant must be 18 years of age or older, and submit an application for membership to the chapter along with a $25.00 application fee, which is non-refundable;
8. The applicant must have a good reputation for integrity and must not be an active felon or have an active criminal record involving an offense of moral turpitude or listed on any sex offenders’ list. When determining this requirement the Executive Board may consider:
·If the applicant has ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony and the type of offense;
·Individuals who have had their criminal records expunged may be considered for membership on a case-by-case basis.
·If the applicant has ever exhibited consistent negative and/or disrupted behavior in public or private to include while being a member of another motorcycle club;
·If the applicant is listed on any sex offenders’ list;
·Or any other behavior that would bring discredit to the TBSMC to include driving record.
Associate Member:
Associate membership is available to all “significant others”, to include wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends, relatives, or just friends of the chapter who for whatever reason are not eligible for “Full Membership” status but want to play a role in the chapter’s mission. Associate Members must be sponsored by a full member of the TBSMC in good standing and are subject to a background investigation under the required considerations listed for full members.
·Associate Members shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of a Full Member, except that Associate Members shall not have the right to vote or hold an elected office in the TBSMC.
·Associate Members may hold appointed positions within the club and may chair committees;
·Associate Members are not required to own a motorcycle;
·Associate Members will submit an annual due’s fee of $50.00 and a onetime cost of Associate full rocker colors of $75.00, which will include the Scoley.
·Associate members are required to make a 5 minute presentation about the history of the Buffalo Soldier at a TBSMC general meeting. Upon satisfactory completion, the Associate member will be provided their rocker colors and Scoley.
·No probationary period is required.
Background Investigation: A criminal background investigation must be completed prior to final acceptance and approval into the TBSMC as a probationary full member or an associate member. As part of the background investigation, the applicant must voluntarily submit to a background check conducted by Corporate Intelligence Consultants (CIC), PO Box 444, Perrysburg, Ohio 43552, (419) 874-2201. The background check is part of the applicant’s application fee and will consist of the applicant’s past address history, a county criminal search, secondary research database and sex offenders’ list.
Fees:
The initial fee for a full member is $260.00, which includes $150.00 annual membership dues, $25.00 background fee and purchase of rocker colors. Additional fees will apply depending on the rocker colors shipping cost. The full members during the probationary period are required to purchase the standard gold shirt with black lettering and the TBSMC club approved burgundy shirt. There is a 4 to 6 month probationary period for all new full members. As part of probation, the probie must successfully give a 10-minute presentation on the history of the Buffalo Soldiers 9th & 10th Cavalry.
